Description:
Acroite (colourless tourmaline) is one of the rarest varieties of tourmaline. There are very few places where it can be found, and Afghanistan is only the latest site to be added to this list. It usually appears in small crystals and is very much coveted by collectors. This specimen, besides being unusually large for an acroite, appears on a matrix of quartz and feldspar which confirms its pegmatitic origin. |
